Norfolk and Waveney Mental health trust is beating the bugs with SaniPost
The Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is leading the way in cleanliness as the first NHS Trust in the UK to introduce SaniPost hand sanitiser stations at no cost to the Trust. The 18 units across Trust sites are for service user, staff and public use and are simply activated by a sensor-operated device when hands are placed inside, negating the risk of cross-infection as no surfaces are touched.
Director of Infection Prevention and Control, Val Leggett said:
“These
new units are visually striking and will be positioned in ward
receptions and restaurant areas to prompt service users, visitors and
staff to clean their hands on entry and exit to our sites.
It is
really great that the SaniPosts have been provided free of charge to
the Trust as part of a government initiative to promote higher
standards of public hand hygiene in this country."

Superquinn first supermarket to install SaniPost hand sanitising units
Superquinn, the popular Irish supermarket chain, has installed SaniPost hand sanitising units to keep both its staff and shoppers hands clean and germ free.
The units have been installed in a range of Superquinn locations, including Dublin, County Kildare, Kilkenny, Carlow, County Tipperary, Waterford, Limerick and County Wicklow. SaniPost is becoming a regular feature for shoppers in Ireland after being installed earlier this year at a range of Ireland's shopping centres, including Pavilions, Blanchardstown, Athlone Town Centre, Dundrum, Ilac and Jervis.
Judith Farren, Head of Procurement at Superquinn said "With the recent Swine Flu pandemic obviously shoppers are now far more conscious of the importance of hand sanitising, so we're happy to be rolling out these SaniPost units to all of our stores to make it easier for our shoppers to do so, and give them greater peace of mind."
The unmissable SaniPost units offer convenient access to disabled people and children. Users simply place hands into the SaniPost unit, which contains a sensor operated device and the unit dispenses the hand-cleaning foam which is alcohol and scent free, using natural ingredients and moisturisers making it safe for all the family, including children.
SaniPost used 4.2 million times in December
SaniPost was used by more people in December than ever before! As the public are becoming increasingly conscious of the importance of clean hands and preventing the spread of germs, SaniPost offers a convenient way to wash hands on the go.
SaniPost units are being installed every month around the country as the popularity of SaniPost grows.
Free SaniPosts available to NHS Hospitals
We are happy to announce that NHS hospitals can now install
our free hand sanitising units, which dispense an alcohol-free hand wash that's
proven effective against 99.9% of all known germs.
Launched in May last year, SaniPost is a free to use, automatic hand cleansing
unit that keeps hands germ-free with no need for interaction with buttons or
levers. Hands are simply placed inside and the hand sanitising foam is
dispensed via a sensor-operated device. The standard solution used in the unit
is NO GERMS, a pioneering alcohol-free hand wash that has been proven to kill
99.9% of germs, including the H1N1 virus. However, hospitals can use a hand
sanitiser of their choice.
We cover the cost of installation and maintenance by using the panels on the
units for advertising, which is agreed by the NHS beforehand. So there is no
cost to the NHS itself. The advertising targeted includes pharmaceuticals,
charities, healthy food brands, Government campaigns, information ads as well
as in-house NHS messages.
We have agreed a partnership with leading supplier PHS who will integrate the
units into hospitals. PHS is then responsible for servicing the SaniPost units
to ensure they are working fully at all times 24/7.
The units stand at 6 feet, making them easier to spot than traditional
wall-mounted bottles currently used in hospitals and thereby encouraging hand
hygiene. As they are battery operated there is no need for electricity or wall
fixings - however wall mounted units are available for locations where a
free-standing unit would not be suitable.
Our Managing Director, Warren Edmondson, said: "Our aim with SaniPost has
always been to provide a free hand cleansing solution in public places where
they are needed most. With the public concern over the spread of germs, we're
delighted that we can help allay their fears and the spread of infection in
hospitals across the UK."

SaniPost joins the fight against Swine Flu in local shopping centres
Installed in 36 shopping centres around the country SaniPost is helping to keep the public’s hands germ free while out and about. With concern around illnesses such as Swine Flu, it is becoming increasingly important to protect against the spread of germs and the public are being urged to keep hands clean at all times. This becomes more difficult when outside, where the spread of germs is increased, particularly when sharing hand rails, opening doors, picking up products or eating. Offering convenient access to disabled people and children, users simply place hands into the SaniPost unit and a sensor operated device dispenses the hand-cleaning foam automatically without the need for buttons or levers. Under rigorous testing, this foam has been proven to kill 99.9% of germs, including the H1N1 virus that causes Swine Flu. However, it is also alcohol and scent free, using natural ingredients and moisturisers which makes it safe for all the family, including children.
Warren Edmondson, Managing Director of Nettoyer Media, the company which owns SaniPost, says: “SaniPost is a great solution for consumers who are concerned about the spread of germs and disease in public places, including Swine Flu which has affected thousands of people in the UK to date. SaniPost is a truly accessible solution to meet public demand to safeguard against hand-borne contaminants – we’ve made it as easy as possible to be germ safe.”
Even though Swine Flu has elevated public awareness of hand hygiene, SaniPost has been designed to meet the wider needs of the general public on a daily, practical basis. Eventually SaniPosts will be installed in a range public venues across the UK and Europe.
